On the 31st of March, in the city of Mary, at the «Bagt köşgi» celebration centre, an exhibition and scientific-practical conference entitled «Achievements of the banking system during the years of independence and modern opportunities» were held, organised by the Central bank of Turkmenistan. The purpose of the event is to introduce new types of banking services, including those provided by the banking sector to the population through a digital system.

The opening ceremony of the event was accompanied by performances by art masters of the velayat. According to the established good tradition, guests were greeted with bread and salt.
The event was attended by managers and specialists from regional bank branches, representatives of public organisations, heads of institutions and enterprises, entrepreneurs, media representatives, as well as tenants and farmers who have achieved high results in the agricultural sector, and schoolchildren who have won prizes in national and international competitions.

In the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, the banking system of the country is demonstrating high rates of development. As the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, notes, the banking system is one of the key structures of the market economy, a mirror reflecting the readiness of the Turkmen economy for transformation.
Achievements in the banking sector, which is the main indicator of economic progress of the country, deserve special attention. According to adopted state programs, in a market economy, one of the priority tasks of the banking sector is to reduce cash circulation and expand the share of non-cash payments. Thanks to modernisation and digitalisation, the banking system of Turkmenistan is currently experiencing a period of active development.

The exhibition showcased the achievements of financial sector of the country. In separate pavilions, banks presented detailed information about their activities.
The exhibition also included stands dedicated to national values and the work of large-scale industries, the development of which was made possible thanks to financing from state banks.

The efficiency and accessibility of the services offered take interactions between banks and clients to a whole new level. As noted, the terms for providing loans to the population were increased from 3 to 5 years, and the interest rate was reduced from 12% to 7%.
During the event dedicated to the development of the banking system, in order to encourage new achievements, outstanding bank executives and employees, tenants, and schoolchildren who won Olympiads were awarded certificates of Honour and commemorative gifts on behalf of the Central bank of Turkmenistan.

At the end of the ceremony, a festive sadaka was offered, during which prayers were offered for the well-being of the country, as well as for the bestowal of good health and longevity on the President of Turkmenistan and Hero-Arkadag, and wishes for further success in their large-scale endeavours.
