The universal international exhibition “Cooperation and Development” is being held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. The forum is aimed at strengthening the country’s multilateral ties with all interested partners, following the principles of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Particular attention of the exhibition’s guests has been drawn to the automotive sector, where the Chinese giant Great Wall Motor (GWM) is showcasing its achievements.
Several modern models are presented at the company’s stand, including the flagship of the premium segment—the TANK 500 SUV. According to GWM’s sales manager in Turkmenistan, Meret Orazov, the key advantages of the showcased vehicles include: reliability: all vehicles have a body-on-frame construction and excellent off-road capability (90% of the models are all-wheel drive); comfort: double glazing, seat massage and ventilation, as well as modern heating systems; warranty and service: all vehicles come with a three-year warranty, and a specialized service center is already operating in Ashgabat.

Despite the traditional preference of Turkmen car enthusiasts for Japanese brands, Chinese manufacturers are steadily gaining ground. The GWM representative noted that in terms of the “price–quality” ratio, their models are not inferior to global competitors.
“Over the past year, more than 60 vehicles of our brand have already been sold in Turkmenistan. They are chosen by both government institutions and private individuals,” emphasized M. Orazov.
According to the company’s experts, the share of Chinese cars in the Turkmen market is expected to grow significantly over the next 2–3 years. This will also be supported by the planned launch of financing programs, which will make modern, technologically advanced SUVs even more accessible to the citizens of Turkmenistan.
