The Turkmen national institute of world languages named after Dovletmammet Azady is conducting advanced training courses using the INSETT system for English language teachers in secondary schools in Turkmenistan.

The training is carried out within the framework of the educational project to improve the quality of English language teaching in Central Asia (AELLCA), implemented with the support of the British Council in collaboration with the Norwich institute of language education (NILE) in the Great Britain.

The training course is designed for 50 academic hours. Classes are taught by trainers and teachers from the Turkmen institute who have successfully completed special training programs within the framework of the AELLCA project.

INSETT (In-service Teacher Training) teacher training courses are designed to provide in-depth understanding of modern methods and approaches to teaching English and their subsequent implementation into the educational process.

Conducting classes in an interactive and collaborative format helps increase the activity of participants. Such forms of work as group activities, the jigsaw method, discussions, analytical work and reflection not only enrich the theoretical knowledge of teachers, but also create broad opportunities for scientific understanding of their own experience and the practical application of new knowledge.

Teaching is based on the curriculum and teaching materials developed by the British Council and the Norwich institute of language education (NILE) in the Great Britain.

Participants who successfully complete the training will be awarded international certificates from the British Council, NILE, and the TNIWL named after D. Azady.

This educational project is being implemented in Turkmenistan for the first time. The main educational platform for its implementation was designated as a Turkmen language university, which occupies a leading position in the field of teaching foreign languages, as well as in the systems of training future teachers (PRESETT) and improving the qualifications of current teachers (INSETT). If the pilot phase of the INSETT courses is successfully completed, further large-scale implementation is planned across the country.

The main goal of the project is to improve the level of English language proficiency and accelerate the process of its acquisition. At the same time, cooperation within the project will contribute to bringing the quality of foreign language teaching in line with international standards, as well as systematically improving the professional skills of teaching staff.
