On April 10, 2026, the Tokyo Shoto Museum of Art held an opening ceremony for an exhibition of ancient Turkmen national costumes, crafts, exquisite embroidery, and jewelry under the slogan "Handicrafts of Central Asia." The exhibition will run from April 11 to June 14, 2026. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.

The exhibition aims to introduce Tokyo residents to remarkable Turkmen works of art from the collection of the Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum in Japan, to reveal the culture of Central Asia, located along the Great Silk Road, and to showcase Turkmen embroidery, exquisite crafts, silver jewelry, and other traditional handicrafts.

The exhibition features approximately 200 pieces of Turkmen silver jewelry, traditional keteni (a traditional Turkmen folk costume), embroidered womanˈs mantle “chyrpy” and other handicrafts.

The exhibition is also dedicated to the motto of the year 2026 «Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan - Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses» and also features decorations and accessories for Turkmen horses, collected by English horse breeders.
