Turkmenistan and Belarus: new horizons for cooperation at the «Turkmentravel – 2026» forum

The ongoing International tourism exhibition «Turkmentravel – 2026» in Ashgabat has become an effective platform for strengthening bilateral relations in the humanitarian and tourism spheres. The Republic of Belarus was one of the participants in the exhibition, and its experience and proposals generated considerable interest among forum guests.

In a conversation with a «GA» correspondent, Alexander Krotov, general director of the Belarusian tour operator BELINDTRAVEL, emphasised that the partnership with Turkmenistan has a solid foundation, laid more than ten years ago.

«The availability of direct air links and active student exchange remain important factors in the development of relations. According to the head of the company, a significant share of the tourist flow consists of parents of Turkmen students studying in Belarus. Special excursion programs are organised for them, allowing them to combine visiting loved ones with cultural recreation», − shared A. Krotov.

The Belarusian side presented more than ten key destinations at the exhibition, covering a wide range of traveller interests. These include patriotic tourism – visits to the Brest Fortress and the «Hatyn» Memorial Complex; ecological routes – the famous Belovezhskaya Pushcha and sites under the auspices of UNESCO; and industrial tourism – excursions to the «BELAZ» plant and other manufacturing giants.

«Every guest will find a destination to their liking. We strive to continuously expand this cooperation with our Turkmen partners», − noted the head of the company.

A representative of the Belarusian tourism business expressed high interest in promoting the Turkmen destination for tourists from his country. He paid special attention to unique natural sites such as the Kov-Ata underground lake, historical, ethnographic and gastronomic tourism, as well as the «Avaza» National tourism cluster.
