President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed a decree authorizing the Ministry of Education to procure computers for children entering the first grade this year. The decision was announced during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting devoted to reviewing the country’s achievements over the first four months of the year.
The laptops will be purchased from domestic companies: the joint venture “Agzybirlik tilsimaty” and the business entity “Aýdyň gijeler.”
All laptops are to be delivered and installed in educational institutions across the country by August 1, 2026. The contracts cover not only the supply of the devices, but also the installation of software and ongoing technical maintenance.
The longstanding tradition of presenting laptops to first-grade students, initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and supported by the head of state, forms part of a strategy to digitalize education and create conditions for modern learning for the younger generation.
