Today, President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country general Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the State Security Council to sum up the work of military and law enforcement bodies for four months of the current year. A number of issues, concerning security and tranquillity in our independent state and the strengthening of the material and technical basis of security structures and further perfection of their activity were also considered.

Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defence B.Gundogdyev who reported on the work carried out for the January-April period of the current year within realisation of the Program of development of the Armed Forces of the country and adopted measures for improvement of social conditions and increase of professionalism of defenders of our fatherland, was the first to take the floor. In addition, he reported on the course of transfer of military men who serve by military call-up to the reserve and the next call up of citizens.

Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov pointed out the significance of further development of the Armed Forces of the country according to the Military doctrine, which has a special defensive character and gave him corresponding instructions to that end.

The head of the state also instructed the Secretary of the State Council, Minister of Defence to provide a high organizational level of the actions planned for May 9 of the current year on the occasion of Victory Day.

Attorney General B.Muhamedov reported on the work implemented from the beginning of the year, including realisation of supervision over observance of the legislation and measures realized to introduce modern methods of legal activity and the best practices in subordinated establishments.

Having emphasised the importance of more effective conduction of work on enhancement of law in Turkmenistan, prevention of infringements of the law and order, the head of the state gave the Attorney General a number of concrete instructions to that respect.

In the meeting, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country signed the Decree and Resolution «On appointment and release of public prosecutors».

Then, Minister of Internal Affairs M.Khydyrov reported on results of the activity of the subordinate structure for the January-April period of the current year. In particular, he reported on adopted measures on observance of traffic regulations and fire safety and prevention of offences.

Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the necessity of strict control over public order maintenance in the country, maintenance of requirements of traffic and fire safety. In connection with rise of temperature during the summer season, the importance of adoption of appropriate measures on protection of nature against fires was underlined and concrete instructions were given to the minister to that end.

Chairman of the Supreme Court B.Khojamgulyev reported on steps taken for four months of the current year on the further perfection of judicial activity and the course of realisation of the Program of development of the department and fulfilment of instructions, given earlier by the head of the state.

Having heard the report, the President of Turkmenistan instructed him to hold the further strengthening of law in the country and regular increase of professionalism of judges in the centre of constant attention.

Minister of National security D.Meredov reported on the work carried out for the specified period and adopted measures to introduce modern technologies in the activity of the ministry.

Having heard the report, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country gave the minister a number of concrete instructions concerning continuation of work on protection of security and national interests of the state and the strengthening of the material and technical basis of the Ministry.

Then, head of the State Border Service I.Ilamanov reported on results of the work carried out for four months of the current year to ensure reliable protection of sacred boundaries of our fatherland and modernisation of the material and technical basis of frontier troops, and fulfilment of instructions, given earlier by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country.

Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noticed that the frontier of Turkmenistan is the border of friendship and brotherhood and instructed him to carry out appropriate measures on a constant basis to strengthen protection of boundaries of the country, and increase the vocational training of frontier guards.

Minister of Adalat M.Taganov reported on results of the work realized for the considered period to bring the national legislative basis into compliance with realities of the time, rendering of legal aid to citizens, successful fulfilment of the goals defined in the Program of development of the department.

Having heard the report, the head of the state marked that one should provide full conformity of drafts of acts to positions of the Constitution and laws in force of Turkmenistan. In addition, a number of the concrete instructions connected with continuation of further work on explanation of laws to citizens and rendering of legal aid were given to the minister.

Chairman of the State Customs Service M.Khudaykuliyev reported on the results of the activity for the January-April period of the current year. As he reported, within the strengthening of the material and technical basis of the department, modernisation of customs points is carried out and in structural divisions, the digital system and modern methods of work are introduced.

Having heard the report, the head of the state outlined the proper control over observance of customs rules at customs points among important requirements and gave the head of the Service a number of concrete instructions concerning equipment with modern technologies and introduction of advanced methods of work on a regular basis.

Addressing members of the State security Council, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov pointed out that according to the defensive military doctrine, the measures aimed at maintenance of a high level of security and territorial integrity of our independent, permanently neutral fatherland, the strengthening of defensibility of the country and improvement of social living conditions of defenders of our fatherland and members of their families are constantly taken. A special emphasis was made on the fact that the work in the given sphere will be continued.

At the meeting of the State Security Council, a number of other important issues, on which corresponding decisions were made, were also considered.

At the end of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country general Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished its participants sound health and great successes in their responsible service for peace and happy life of our people.
