Magtymguly Turkmen State University to Hold International Conference on Environmental and Climate Change Issues

The Magtymguly Turkmen State University will hold the International Scientific and Practical Conference titled “A Key Direction of the Sustainable Development Goals: Environmental and Climate Change Issues,” dedicated to the year “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses,” the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence, and World Environment Day.

The university invites professors, lecturers, scientists, researchers, postgraduate students, master’s and doctoral students from higher educational institutions and research centers, representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan and foreign countries, as well as representatives of partner universities participating in the European Union Erasmus+ project “Strengthening Higher Education in the Water Sector for Climate Resilience and Security in Central Asia,” to take part in the forum.

The conference will be held online from June 4 to June 5 in Turkmen, Russian, and English.

As part of the international scientific and practical conference, a general plenary session and four thematic sections are planned:

  • The Intersection of Modern Education, Scientific Innovation, and Environmental Security;
  • Climate Change Adaptation and the Strategic Protection of Water Resources;
  • Innovative Methods for the Rational Use of Natural Resources;
  • Modern Methods and Practical Significance of Biodiversity Studies.

Following the conference, an electronic collection of abstracts is planned to be published.

Those wishing to participate in the event should submit their presentation abstracts, summaries, and registration forms to the organizing committee by May 23 via email at: tsuecoconference@gmail.com.

The conference is being held with the aim of conducting an in-depth analysis of current environmental challenges related to climate change and anthropogenic impact, existing approaches to environmental education, as well as developing new curricula and courses and creating interactive learning tools and platforms.

The upcoming forum is intended to strengthen international cooperation in the field of environmental research and education.
