From May 11 to 14, a professor from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) conducted an online training session for students and young lecturers of the Faculty of Geology at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University.

During the session, titled “Black Gold,” participants received useful information and gained valuable knowledge about modern innovative technologies and the latest methods used in oil and gas extraction.

Participants of the training course will receive special certificates from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS.

The Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, the Malaysian company PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd, and the company’s technological university have been maintaining successful and productive cooperation in the fields of science and education for several years.

Professors and lecturers from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS regularly organize online courses and training sessions for students and young teachers of the Turkmen university on the implementation of innovative technologies and digital systems used in the oil and gas industry. Every year during the summer period, students and lecturers from the Turkmen university undertake educational and industrial internships at the partner university.

These activities are carried out on the basis of a Memorandum of Understanding signed to develop and expand scientific, research, and educational cooperation between the parties.

Within the framework of the memorandum, a wide range of in-person and online classes led by professors from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS is planned throughout the current year. The classes will focus on the oil and gas industry, the implementation of artificial intelligence, chemistry and processing, as well as modern innovative technologies and methods of their application in these fields.
