On 21 May 2026, consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Belarus were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.  

The delegations were headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Utyupin.

During the consultations, the sides discussed issues related to further strengthening political and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries. The importance of maintaining regular dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two states was emphasized.

The possibilities for further strengthening the legal-contractual base of bilateral partnership were discussed.

The diplomats noted the productive nature of cooperation within international and regional organizations, particularly the UN and the CIS. Both sides expressed readiness to continue the practice of mutual support for initiatives aimed at maintaining universal peace, stability and sustainable development.

During the consultations, the sides reviewed the current level of bilateral trade and discussed opportunities for expanding economic partnership, including through the private sector.

The parties also discussed cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. The fruitful nature of interaction in the fields of education, science and culture was highlighted.

Following the consultations, the sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Belarus.
