Turkmen Delegation Participates in the International Skills Forum “Tajikistan-2026”

A Turkmen delegation consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and students from secondary vocational technical schools took part in the International Skills Forum “Tajikistan-2026,” held from May 27 to 30 in the Danghara District of Khatlon Province, Republic of Tajikistan.

The international forum was organized to showcase the practical skills potential of young specialists, improve the quality of vocational education, develop a workforce training system that meets labor market demands, and strengthen regional and international cooperation.

According to the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, discussions held on the sidelines of the forum focused on modern vocational and technical education programs, international experience in assessing professional skills, the training of competitive young specialists, the improvement of educational and production activities, and the strengthening of cooperation with employers. Special attention was given to the development of vocational training for young people in the fields of energy, construction, manufacturing, services, transport and logistics, creativity, and design.

On the first day of the forum, participants attended presentations on the development of vocational education, increasing youth employment, and training specialists who meet employers’ requirements, while also exchanging professional experience.

An important part of the forum’s program was a visit to the Nurek Hydroelectric Power Plant. The trip allowed young specialists to gain firsthand insight into the practical significance of such fields of study as electrical engineering, energy, welding, and technical maintenance.

On the second day, international professional skills competitions were held with the participation of young specialists from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, China, and Türkiye. Contestants demonstrated their practical abilities in electrical installation work, plastering, electric and gas welding, and the installation and adjustment of solar energy equipment. Over a period of four to six hours, the participants completed a series of tasks designed to test their precision, speed, technical competence, adherence to safety regulations, and quality of workmanship. The results were evaluated by independent international experts based on technical criteria.

Young specialists from Turkmenistan performed with great success at the competition. Nepes Rahmanberdiyev, a student of the Ashgabat Construction Secondary Vocational School of the Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan, demonstrated a high level of professional skill and won second place. Competing in a highly challenging environment, Ymamberdi Sokhbetov, a student of the Ashgabat Energy Secondary Vocational School of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, finished among the top four strongest young specialists.

These results became not only personal achievements for the students but also evidence of the effectiveness of the work being carried out in Turkmenistan to develop vocational education, cultivate practical skills among young people, and strengthen the connection between industry and the education system. Such accomplishments on the international stage serve as a vivid demonstration of the talent, diligence, determination, and dedication of Turkmen youth to their chosen professions.

The success of Turkmenistan’s young specialists at the international competition is a worthy example for the younger generation and a powerful incentive for further efforts aimed at systematically preparing students for professional competitions, strengthening ties between training workshops and industry, expanding cooperation with employers, identifying and promoting the most talented young specialists, enhancing international scientific and educational cooperation, and further increasing the achievements of talented Turkmen youth on the global stage.
