On the 3rd of June, the XXXIV meeting of the Council of Heads of state information agencies of the commonwealth of independent states (CIS information council) was held in the city of St. Petersburg, Russian Federation, in which representatives of Turkmenistan took part.

The main topic of the meeting was issues related to the use of intelligent systems in the work of state news agencies, as well as compliance with journalistic ethics. Particular attention was paid to the prospects for developing cooperation between news agencies in the context of the development of modern media technologies.

The meeting highlighted events and projects dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the CIS. In this context, it was noted that Turkmenistan is chairing the Commonwealth of Independent States this year and is organising a number of major forums. At the same time, emphasis was placed on holding a high-level meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Ashgabat in May of this year, including its wide coverage in the media.

During the current meeting, an overview of the activities of the Global Fact-Checking Network (GFCN), which uses neural networks to help ensure the reliability of information received and disseminated and combat fake news, was presented.

A presentation of the new website ania-news.info, a project of the Information Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States, also took place. Here you will find news from state information agencies of the CIS countries, covering life in the Commonwealth countries, the development of cooperation in various fields, and achievements in the economic, scientific, cultural, and sports fields.
