Today in Turkmenistan, the private sector makes a significant contribution to increasing food abundance for the population. One of such enterprises is the company «Erkin gurluşyk», located in the Mary velayat. Its main activity is to promote the development of livestock farming in the agricultural complex of the country. Erkin gurluşyk has 1,500 hectares of arable land allocated in the Oguzhan valley in the Oguzhan etrap of the velayat. On 10 hectares of this area there is a livestock complex, where a thousand heads of Holstein cattle are kept.
The specialists of the company are also focused on processing products obtained from its own livestock. In this regard, it is planned to build a small enterprise for processing meat and dairy products. One of the necessary conditions for obtaining good productivity from livestock is the provision of feed. Taking this into account, this year alfalfa was grown on an area of 280 hectares, barley on 337 hectares, and corn on 13 hectares.
Currently, with the help of the powerful grain harvesters on the balance sheet of the company, the barley harvest continues at a rapid pace. Winter vegetable and melon crops are planted in areas cleared of barley. On other plots of land, the gardeners of the company grow various types of fruit trees and receive a generous harvest of fruit.
Currently, gardeners are developing special plots for planting vineyards, preparing seedlings resistant to the soil and climate conditions of the region, and are also organising the harvest of early apple varieties. Fresh produce is immediately delivered to the markets of the country.
The introduction of the latest scientific advances in seedling cultivation, the use of new methods and modern technologies create additional conditions for achieving high results. In the future, the entrepreneurs aim to build a plant for processing the fruit products they grow. The construction of a new warehouse for storing fruits and vegetables with a capacity of five thousand tons is further evidence that «Erkin gurluşyk» will implement all its plans in the near future.
