Wheat Harvest Continues in the Lebap Velayat

The year-round dedication and hard work of the Lebap grain growers have fully paid off, resulting in a rich wheat harvest in the eastern region of Turkmenistan. The harvesting campaign, which began with the blessing of the head of state and respected elders, is rapidly gaining momentum, with the country's grain reserves being replenished daily with thousands of tons of high-quality wheat. These achievements clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of the agricultural reforms initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag, and now being implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

This season, thanks to comprehensive measures, including strict adherence to modern agricultural practices, tenant farmers in the Lebap velayat have produced an abundant wheat crop on 130,000 hectares of farmland. The first etraps to report the successful fulfillment of the state procurement target ahead of schedule were Charjev and Halach. Farmers in the Charjev etrap harvested more than 51,100 tons of grain from 16,800 hectares, exceeding the target of 50,000 tons. Meanwhile, agricultural producers in the Halach etrap delivered 26,700 tons of wheat harvested from nearly 11,000 hectares, likewise surpassing their assigned production target.

The highest average yield was achieved by the “Watan” Daikhan Association in the Charjev etrap, where tenant farmers harvested an average of 4 tons of grain per hectare. The association fulfilled 113% of its production target. Other farming associations in the Charjev etrap also achieved excellent results, reaching approximately 110% of their planned targets, including the J. Hekimov, “Jeýhun,” “Amudarya,” H. Hajiyev, “Parahat,” and “Lebap” farmers' associations. In the Halach etrap, “Pelwert,” Magtymguly, and “Chohpetde” farmers' associations also exceeded expectations, fulfilling 104% of their assigned targets.

The rapid pace of the harvesting campaign is being ensured by the uninterrupted operation of 322 high-capacity combine harvesters manufactured by leading global producers and serviced by specialists from the “Lebapobahyzmat” Production Association. The timely supply of spare parts has prevented equipment downtime in the fields. An additional source of motivation for harvest workers has been the labor competition organized by the velayat and etrap trade unions, which regularly recognize and reward the campaign's top performers. The confidence and determination of Lebap's agricultural producers leave little doubt that the region's grain harvest will be successfully completed in the shortest possible time.
