A Turkmen-Uzbek Business Forum was held in Ashgabat, marking another step towards strengthening bilateral economic relations. The event brought together representatives of relevant ministries, government agencies and leading manufacturing enterprises from the two neighboring countries.
A special place in the forum’s program was given to the address by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan, Ravshanbek Alimov.
The diplomat expressed his sincere gratitude to the Turkmen side for the excellent organization of the event, the traditionally warm reception extended to the Uzbek delegation, and the creation of optimal conditions for a productive dialogue between the business communities.
The Ambassador noted the representative composition of the forum. More than twenty key companies from each side took part in the meeting, demonstrating the mutual practical interest of the business communities in establishing partnerships, increasing trade turnover and implementing joint investment initiatives.
“One of the most promising areas is industrial cooperation in the production of construction materials. This direction is gaining particular importance against the backdrop of the large-scale urban development and infrastructure modernization programs currently being implemented in both countries,” stated the head of the diplomatic mission.
The Ambassador provided a detailed list of products of interest for launching new joint manufacturing facilities, exchanging technologies and increasing mutual supplies. The list of products for cooperation in the construction sector included construction and paint materials, sandwich panels and metal structures, decorative raw materials and tile products, non-metallic mineral products, profiles, fittings and construction plastics, rubber engineering products and metal thermal insulation, cast iron, steel, ferroalloys, as well as metal fasteners (self-tapping screws).
Emphasizing the practical nature of the listed areas, R. Alimov noted that Uzbekistan is fully open to expanding industrial cooperation and establishing joint production facilities with brotherly Turkmenistan.
In this regard, the diplomat expressed his deep gratitude to Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the President of Turkmenistan, and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, for their comprehensive support in developing good-neighborly relations and creating favorable conditions for entrepreneurs of the two countries.
