The Turkmen-Uzbek business forum, held in the conference hall of the Chamber of commerce and industry in Ashgabat, marked another important milestone in strengthening bilateral economic relations. The event brought together representatives of relevant ministries, departments, and leading manufacturing companies from the two neighbouring countries.
The central event of the forum program was a session dedicated to the prospects for developing long-term partnerships in the construction and industrial sectors. During the discussions, the speakers discussed practical steps for implementing joint projects, introducing modern technologies, and sharing best practices in the production of building materials and industrial equipment.
Of particular interest to forum participants were presentations by representatives of the Uzbek business community exploring new markets. In particular, Alisher Abdurahmanov, a representative of the Uzbek company «Pipe Metal» LLC, shared his views on the prospects for integration and trade cooperation.
«We are not only neighbours, we are fraternal peoples. Our plant opened in 2022, but despite its young age, we have already achieved impressive sales volumes of finished products – up to 20 thousand tons per month», – A. Abdurahmanov emphasised.
The speaker noted the high technological level of production. Raw rolled metal products are supplied from the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan. In Uzbekistan, it is used to manufacture high-quality electric-welded, water-gas-welded, and profile pipes of various diameters, rolled steel products, and hot-rolled sheets. All manufactured products are certified and strictly comply with state standards.
Today, Pipe Metal has established strong trade relations with partners from Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. Cooperation with Turkmenistan is in its initial stages – the first delivery of metal products was recently successfully completed.
According to the Uzbek representative, Turkmenistan is demonstrating dynamic economic growth, with industrial and socio-cultural facilities being built on a large scale. This creates a huge demand for high-quality building materials.
In this context, A. Abdurahmanov highlighted the advantage of cooperation, such as geographic proximity, which allows for the reduction of logistics costs to a minimum.
The Uzbek businessman expressed his readiness for dialogue, a desire for a long-term partnership, and an expansion of regular supply volumes. A. Abdurahmanov also expressed confidence that increasing metal product supplies will strengthen the construction sectors of both countries and become another strong bridge in the fraternal relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
