On September 9, 2026, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan Ravshanbek Alimov, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Turkmen-Uzbek relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, as well as cultural and humanitarian fields. The diplomats emphasized the effectiveness of the long-term strategic partnership based on the principles of good neighborliness, trust, and mutual respect.

Particular attention during the conversation was paid to the issues of further improving the mechanisms of political and diplomatic interaction, as well as coordinating efforts on international and regional platforms, primarily within the framework of the United Nations.

The parties also thoroughly discussed the organization of upcoming joint events aimed at further deepening the inter-state dialogue.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness to make joint efforts to further strengthen and fill the partnership between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan with new practical content.
