On 9 September 2026, the successive meeting of the Secretariat of the C5+1 multilateral cooperation format, bringing together the Central Asian states and the United States of America, was held. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.
Further development of the C5+1 format, as well as practical aspects of cooperation in priority areas of the regional agenda were in the focus of the meeting.
The participants reviewed the progress in implementing the agreements reached and discussed proposals aimed at further advancing the agenda of multilateral cooperation. Particular attention was paid to preparations for upcoming meetings and events, as well as the coordination of relevant organizational matters.
During the exchange of views, the importance of regular engagement within the C5+1 format for advancing regional cooperation and promoting joint initiatives was emphasized. In this regard, the possibilities for expanding cooperation in the areas of critical minerals, trade and transport were discussed.
A separate part of the meeting was devoted to practical cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the United States, including the development of contacts among relevant government institutions and expert communities.
Following the meeting, further steps were identified for the work of the Secretariat and preparations for events planned within the framework of the C5+1 mechanism.
