The final matches of the 20th round of the Turkmenistan Premier league football championship took place.
At the «Nisa» Stadium in Ashgabat, vice-champion Ahal confidently defeated «Nebitchi» of Balkanabat, winning with a score of 3:0. The main hero of the match was Yakupmuhammet Govshudov, who scored twice in the 61st and 74th minutes, and Enver Annayev put the finishing touches five minutes before the end of regular time.
In the Buzmeyin etrap of the capital, «Altyn Asyr» beat «Shagadam» 2:0 of Turkmenbashy. The efforts of the visitors to save the match were undermined by the sending off of Begench Gylychnyyazov, who received a second yellow card in the 28th minute. In an emotional game with numerous warnings, «Altyn Asyr» put the squeeze on their opponents – Mekan Ashyrov scored in the 93rd minute.
The only match without goals was the one in Mary, where the local «Merv» and «Kopetdag» of the capital played to a 0-0 draw. Let us remind that the round opened with a match in which the impeccable «Arkadag» confidently beat «Ashgabat» with a score of 3:0.
The results of the tour maintained the status quo at the top of the table. «Arkadag» continues to lead the tournament table with an absolute result, having scored the maximum 60 points in 20 matches. «Ahal» (19 games) retained second place with 39 points, and «Altyn Asyr» rounded out the top three with 38 points after 18 matches and two games in hand.
In the middle part of the table, 4th and 5th places are shared by «Shagadam» and «Nebitchi», with 19 points each. «Merv» is closing in on them – with 18 points, the team is in sixth place, with a game in hand. Ashgabat is in 7th place (15 points), and «Kopetdag» is at the bottom of the standings with 14 points.
«Arkadag» forward Didar Durdyyev is the sole leader in the scoring race. He has scored 22 goals (4 of which were penalties). The second place is shared by two footballers, who scored 9 goals each: Arslan Saparov from «Kopetdag» (1 – from a penalty) and Suleyman Mirzoyev from «Ahal» (2 – from a penalty).
