The creative team of the Lebap state musical and drama theatre named after Seytnazar Seydi regularly delights audiences with performances celebrating the glorious history of the country, the grandeur of its national heritage, family values, and sacred traditions. A striking confirmation of this was the recently created and presented to the audience performance «Oguz ýigidi», staged by the young talented director Dovran Jorayev based on the play by the people's writer of Turkmenistan, playwright Govshutgeldi Dantarov «Tekepbir gyz» («Proud girl»), based on the storyline «Däli Garçar» from the epic «Gorkut ata».
This stage production reveals family relationships, noble principles and traditions of education of the Turkmen people in historical epochs, as well as the morality of Turkmen women. The main character of production, Tulpar, a girl known for her wayward character, is transformed by the influence of an Oguz horseman and the eldest daughter-in-law in the house of groom, becoming a loving, hardworking, diligent, respected, and meek daughter-in-law.
It is worth noting the great work of Gulalek Jumayeva, who embodied the image of Tulpar. She masterfully managed to convey the daring nature of the heroine, her cocky attitude towards her sisters and those around her, her worldview and fearlessness. The success of the new production was ensured by the confident performances and skill of Honoured Artists of Turkmenistan Babageldi Rejepov and Akjagul Suhanova, who played the roles of Garchar-bek and his mother, as well as People's Artist Nuryagdy Dovletov as Tulpar's beloved Helebay, and Tayaly Allaberdiyev and Babamyrat Ashyrov, who played the comic roles of Cherrik and Gulyam.
It is impossible not to mention other experienced actors who deeply embodied their characters and captivated the audience: Gulalek Shaymerdanova, who played the role of Garchar-bek's wife, Gulharman-hatun, as well as Chary Dolyyev and Chary Rahmankulov, who played the roles of Bineg-bek and the pathfinder Sumsun.
Another notable feature of the new production was the harmonious ensemble of actors, who brought together stage masters and young artists. The audience highly appreciated the roles performed by Menlitach Dovletova, Akmaya Halymova, Oguzhan Tashev, Muhammet Borjakov and Remezan Allaberdiyev.
The production designer, Honoured Artist of Turkmenistan Myrat Haytyyev, lighting designer Vepa Sadykov, and composer Aziz Akyyev, whose music perfectly underscored the content of the play, contributed to the creation of a harmonious stage production.
The success of Lebap artists was confirmed at the theatre competition «Garaşsyzlyk ganatym, Watanym – seždegähim», organised by the Ministry of culture of Turkmenistan and the Central Council of the Youth Organisation named after Magtymguly in honour of the 35th anniversary of independence of the country. The performance received high praise from the jury, director Dovran Jorayev was awarded a special prize «For new directing searches», and Nuryagdy Dovletov, who played the role of Helebay, won in the category «Best Actor».
The new production by the Lebap state musical and drama theatre named after Seytnazar Seydi has become a worthy creative gift for the glorious anniversary of the company – the 35th anniversary of the sacred independence of our sovereign state.
