An Innovative “Electronic University” Platform with AI Elements Launched at a Turkmen University

The Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan has launched an innovative “Electronic University” platform with AI elements, developed jointly by the university’s specialists and students.

The electronic system was created to modernize higher education management, automate educational processes, and improve access to academic information.

Work on the project began in early 2025, and from September of the same year, the system was gradually put into operation. At present, within a unified digital environment, the platform brings together 4,700 undergraduate students and 200 master’s students, more than 250 teaching and research staff members, as well as around 30 administrative users. The “Electronic University” serves as an innovative platform for a significant part of the university’s educational and administrative activities.

The digital system provides separate personal accounts for the main groups of users: students, teachers, heads of departments, and administrators responsible for academic affairs. Each user can access the necessary academic and administrative information through a single integrated system in accordance with their access rights.

Using the system, teachers and department heads can manage student attendance and academic performance in real time through electronic journals. Students, in turn, have access to class schedules, curricula, educational materials, research articles, books, study guides, presentations, and video materials.

The launch of the system has also made it possible to electronically record the results of monthly tests, midterm and final examinations, and retakes, prepare the relevant documents in PDF format, and automatically generate students’ academic records (transcripts).

An important feature of the electronic platform is the integration of artificial intelligence technologies with academic analytics. Academic data collected through the system can be analyzed to provide information on students’ academic performance, course completion, and the effectiveness of the educational process. Thus, AI-based analytics helps determine an individual approach to each student, identify academic disciplines that present difficulties, and determine the need for additional academic support. This creates new opportunities for data-driven management of the educational process.

The electronic university system is also available to all its users through Android and iOS mobile applications.

The creation and implementation of this innovative product by university staff clearly demonstrates the formation of a new technological ecosystem within the university, bringing together specialists and students who are capable of independently and successfully developing digital solutions using AI and integrating modern technologies into educational and administrative processes.
