At the «Avaza» National tourist zone, National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, warmly welcomed Valentina Matviyenko, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, who arrived in our country to participate in the International Women's Dialogue «The role of women in maintaining peace and achieving sustainable development».
During the meeting held here, the Speaker of the upper house of the Russian parliament expressed sincere gratitude for the warm welcome and congratulated the Hero-Arkadag on large-scale international events in the world-famous tourist area. Taking the opportunity, Valentina Matviyenko conveyed greetings and wishes of success and prosperity from Russian President Vladimir Putin to Hero-Arkadag and the President of Turkmenistan.
Expressing gratitude for the kind words, Hero-Arkadag conveyed his best wishes to the President of the Russian Federation and thanked Valentina Matviyenko for accepting the invitation to the international events held on the beautiful coast of the Caspian sea.
As noted during the meeting, relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation are currently developing harmoniously in various areas. Our countries are expanding their fruitful dialogue within the UN, CIS, and other international structures.
Agreements resulting from high-level meetings and negotiations are also implemented on a mutually beneficial basis. As was emphasised, bilateral relations are developing based on the principles of strong friendship and mutual respect.
In this regard, effective and friendly relations established at the state level will lead to the elevation of Turkmen-Russian cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
The idea of holding the International Women's Dialogue in Turkmenistan has special significance: this forum once again demonstrates the high regard in the country for women's activities. In this context, the guest noted the significant contribution of O. Atabayeva, vice-president of the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to organising international events for women.
Currently, political and economic relations between the two friendly countries are consistently developing, including through ministries and departments. One of the important areas of international cooperation is interparliamentary relations, which facilitate the exchange of experience and maintain constructive dialogue between legislative bodies.
As noted, the major events scheduled tomorrow will serve as an effective platform for substantive discussions and will become significant events.
Along with this, the achievement of a qualitatively new level of bilateral contacts in the field of education and science was emphasised. Today, thousands of young citizens of Turkmenistan are studying at Russian universities.
In this regard, confidence was expressed that large-scale international events held on the beautiful coast of the Caspian sea will give a powerful impetus to the further development of productive relations. In particular, wishes were expressed for success for the work of the International Women's Dialogue «The role of women in maintaining peace and achieving sustainable development».
