The President of Turkmenistan proposed a technological transition to the countries of the region and Azerbaijan based on the «Smart city Diplomacy» concept

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated the need to establish new mechanisms for economic cooperation among Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan. This initiative was announced on the 8th of October at the eighth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the region and Azerbaijan in the «Avaza» National tourist zone.

The President of Turkmenistan identified the technological transition as one of the key segments of the new stage of cooperation.

The technological transition is a separate topic. Here, I would also suggest considering models of interaction both within our format and beyond it. «One approach could be to invite leading foreign high-tech companies to participate in joint projects in Central Asia and Azerbaijan, utilising our high-tech centres and creating favourable, mutually beneficial conditions for cooperation», said the President of Turkmenistan.

As a stimulus for international innovation cooperation, the Head of State highlighted the «Smart city Diplomacy» concept put forward by Turkmenistan. The active participation of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan in this initiative will provide a powerful impetus to the technological development of the entire region, the President of Turkmenistan emphasised.
