President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed the eighth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, held on the 8th of October in the «Avaza» National tourist zone. In his address, the head of state described the summit as an important new stage in strengthening interstate relations and proposed focusing on five key tasks for developing the regional partnership.

The head of state identified the strengthening of the six-party format’s potential and the maintenance of solidarity and mutual support as the primary vectors of cooperation. In the geopolitical sphere, the priority is to ensure lasting peace, security, and stability in the region, as well as to maintain an effective political and diplomatic dialogue on the current international agenda.

In the economic sphere, the President of Turkmenistan called for injecting new momentum into trade and investment and for joining forces to transform Central Asia and Azerbaijan into key transport-logistics, energy, and industrial hubs on the continent along the «East-West» and «North-South» corridors.

Particular attention was paid to innovative development in the address. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised the need to create conditions for accelerated technological growth and the active adoption of artificial intelligence, which will enable the region to secure a competitive position on the global stage.

The head of state identified the expansion of cultural, humanitarian, educational, and civilisational ties both within the six-party grouping and with other nations of the world as the fifth priority.

«I believe that the nature of relations among the six states, as well as the level of mutual trust, openness, and understanding among the leaders, are so high and solid today that we are fully capable of accomplishing all the tasks outlined», – the President of Turkmenistan concluded.
