Quality Sowing Is the Key to a Bountiful Harvest

A rich wheat harvest, the staple food crop, is grown year after year in the Lebap velayat. The combination of centuries-old traditions of achieving abundant harvests with advances in modern agricultural science, the extensive experience of grain growers, and comprehensive state support for farmers makes it possible to increase harvest volumes annually. This, in turn, helps implement the country’s programmes aimed at ensuring food security.

A bountiful harvest depends first and foremost on high-quality sowing and the emergence of uniform seedlings. Guided by this principle, tenant farmers in the Lebap velayat have made thorough preparations for the current crucial season—the sowing of wheat for the 2027 harvest—and are now carrying out the work in an organized manner and at a rapid pace.

This season, the region plans to sow 130,000 hectares of land, and as of today, wheat has already been sown on nearly 100,000 hectares. Given that approximately 2,400 hectares are being sown across the velayat each day, it can confidently be said that grain growers will successfully complete the wheat-sowing campaign in the near future.

The uninterrupted operation of powerful, high-performance machinery, quality control by specialists, and the efficient use of resources make it possible to carry out sowing in full compliance with agrotechnical standards. It is worth noting that the fastest pace of wheat sowing has been recorded in Halach, Charjev, and Darganata etraps of the velayat. In these farms, the wheat-sowing plans have been fulfilled to 90, 84, and 77 percent, respectively.

The sowing of proven wheat varieties adapted to the region’s soil and climatic conditions—including “Bagtyyarlyk,” “Sahrayy,” “Berkarar,” “Alekseich,” “Bezostaya-100,” and “Batko”—for the coming year’s harvest, together with the uniform emergence of seedlings in fields already sown and the dedicated work of grain growers, inspires strong confidence that the velayat will achieve a substantial harvest of this vital food crop.
