In the northern region of Lebap velayat introduced in the commercial development of a new gas field Babarap. A few days ago here were involved the first two starter holes. Every day from depths of more than three thousand meters of gas in the artery receives more than 300,000 cubic meters of natural gas and condensate - about 40 tons of hydrocarbons.

The field Babarap where the necessary gas production infrastructure is implemented is the second gas producing area in the KaraKum Zaunguz which did start the commercial production of energy in the current year. Previously there was introduced a new gas field Kerwen which today is produced each day to 700 thousand cubic meters of gas, as well as large amounts of condensate.

Entering into the commercial mining Kerwen and Babarap further increased the guarantee uninterrupted supply of raw materials of Nayip powerful gas processing plant and increase the supply of highly environmentally friendly commercial natural gas pipeline system. In the near term is planned to reconstruct and modernize the complex in accordance with the modern achievements of science and technology first automated installation of this gas processing plant with a significant increase of its capacity and product quality.

Production of natural gas and hydrocarbon condensate in the eastern region of the country is growing steadily. This is evidenced by statistics - if in 2008 the region produced over 7 billion cubic meters of "blue fuel", in the past year, production volume of more than 18 billion cubic meters. And this year will draw from the depths of the desert up to 20 billion cubic meters of natural gas. The dynamic is the delivery of gas for export, provided by natural gas - raw gas processing facilities, as well as the needs of the whole national economic infrastructure of the Amu Darya valley.

In addition, the composition of the gas extracted from the bowels of Zaunguz, especially in new areas of Kerwen and Babarap contains a large percentage of gas condensate - the most valuable hydrocarbons for the production of light oil.

At the present time in the region are being implemented new large-scale projects.
