Suray Bayryyeva, a third-year student at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Ecology of the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University, is undertaking a year of study at Tohoku University, one of Japan’s leading higher education institutions, as part of a student exchange programme.

Studying in Japan represents a significant academic achievement for the student from Turkmenistan, made possible by her diligent studies, successful research activities, and active involvement in public life at her home university.

Suray is currently studying at the School of Engineering, an academic division of Tohoku University that provides engineering education at all levels of higher education.

During her studies, under the guidance of the university’s leading professors and researchers, Suray will not only deepen her theoretical knowledge of subjects related to her field of specialisation but also participate in research projects in her area of expertise.

The practical component of the programme will enable the Turkmen student to apply the knowledge she has acquired at her home university in an international scientific environment, familiarise herself with advanced research methods, and gain experience in modern approaches to engineering, biotechnology, and ecology.

According to information provided by Tohoku University’s School of Engineering, the participation of international students in laboratory research is one of the key components of the academic exchange programme.

Tohoku University is a major and prestigious centre for science and education located in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, in Japan’s Tohoku region. The university’s student exchange programmes enable international students from various academic disciplines to study and participate in research activities at the institution for one or more semesters.

Studying in Japan will make a significant contribution to the professional development and future career of the student from Turkmenistan. It will also help expand cooperation between the universities of the two friendly countries in one of the most important areas of the training of highly qualified specialists.
