Cotton harvesting campaign started. Farmers of Akhal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary provinces simultaneously started to harvest cotton. Little later – on August 29, the reception points will begin to work in Dashoguz province.
In the course of the current cotton harvesting campaign, in Turkmenistan, it is planned to procure 1 million 109 tons of “white gold”, including in Akhal province – 213, Dashoguz – 234, Lebap – 322, Mary – 335 and Balkan – 5 thousand tons.
As before, total area of lands allotted under cotton is 550 thousand hectares. In spring, they were sown with medium- and fine-stapled cotton sorts.
In total, 570 cotton combines will be set in motion during campaign. Twenty-four-hour technical and after-sales service of exploited machinery was arranged for uninterrupted work of cotton harvesting conveyor on the places as well as all conditions were created for labor and rest of machine operators, drivers and mistresses of hand picking of cotton.
159 procurement stations and 36 ginneries of the country were prepared for reception of new cotton harvest.
