Planned works for broadening and deepening of the course of Dashoguz discharge channel of Altyn Asyr Turkmen Lake are carried out. The work is performed by Altyn Asyr Turkmen Kyol, which is a part of the structure of regional division of the State Water Management Committee. Specialized equipment, including powerful modern excavators and bulldozers, are used for provision of proper conditions of aquatic facility.

Similar works, which are planned to perform to the amount of 1 million manats this year, will allow providing necessary throughput capacity of the channel and avoiding the loss of water.

Dashoguz discharge channel, which was built 10 years ago, is 386 kilometres. Running across the territory of the norther region, it is the main collection channel of Altyn Asyr Turkmen Lake being a part of this big hydro technical facility.

Construction of Altyn Asyr Turkmen lake is a long-term measure aimed at the improvement of the environment in the region. Collecting drainage waters from irrigated lands of five velayats of the country, this unique facility gives opportunity to improve soil condition of agricultrua fields, to protect the soil from degradation, to realize social, economic and ecological projects.
