Agricultural scientific and production centre of Gubadag district, Dashoguz Region works on development of medium fiber species of cotton of Gubadag series. Seven new species, which were produced by crossbreeding of the best local and foreign species, are compared by indictors with Dashoguz 120 cotton, which is the most suitable for the region.

High emergence and productivity in soil and climate conditions of Northern Turkmenistan as well as resistance to diseases are the main criteria of evaluation of new breed lines. According to the requirements of national textile industry, special attention in selection work is paid to components of quality and production of fiber.

Provision of agricultural producers with quality seeds is important for development of cotton production industry of Dashoguz Region. This year, the crop has been planted on 155 thousand hectares, from which not less than 275 thousand tons of cotton are planned to be harvested.

Local scientists carry out an integrated work for production of species optimum of zoning point of view. Staged state trials of new medium fiber Dashoguz 150 cotton breed, which demonstrates good results in soil and climate conditions of the north of the country, are continued.
