Scientific-practical conference “Monetary reforms and development of the banking system in the prosperous epoch of the powerful state” was held at the Central Bank of Turkmenistan. It was timed to the 19th anniversary of putting of national currency - manat into circulation.

Agenda of the forum included vital issues connected with the development of the national banking system in new historical epoch.

Achievements of Turkmenistan in the sphere of modernization of economy and financial-banking sector were also highlighted in the reports of the representatives of the International Monetary Fund, particularly Chief Executive officer of IMF Rene Veber and head of the mission of IMF in our country Veronica Bakalu.

Within the framework of the forum, it was held a presentation “Turkmenistan and IMF: consolidation of dialogue on economic policy”

On the occasion of significant date, exhibition entitled “National manat – the base of happiness of powerful state was organized at the Turkmen State Institute of Economy and Management. This exposition presented the state awards of independent Turkmenistan. Alongside with rarities, it was also demonstrated bank notes of new standard as well as commemorative coins from precious metals minted by the Central Bank of the country within the years of independence as well as publications about history of money.
