The II International Cotton Fair organized by the Turkmenpagta State Concern, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan started its work in Ashgabat.
The cabinet ministers, the heads of Mejlis, ministries and departments, the public organisations and foreign diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan, journalists, rectors of higher educational institutions, numerous participants and guests from all regions of Turkmenistan and foreign countries attended the forum opening ceremony.
Among foreign participants are representatives of more than thirty countries all over the world, including the UK, the Russian Federation, Turkey, China, Germany, the US, the Virgin Islands, etc. The increasing potential of the agro-industrial complex of Turkmenistan, the favourable investment climate, the successive integration of the national economy of Turkmenistan into the world markets as well as the growth of its export potential have aroused keen interest among foreign specialists in the forum.
The leading enterprises and departments of the cotton growing industry and agro-industrial complex, over 30 ministries, sectoral departments, economic entities and entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan as well as foreign partners presented their expositions. The stands of the Turkmenpagta State Concern, Ak Altyn Procurement Enterprise of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, a number of leading cotton producers aroused keen interest among numerous guests and participants of the forum. A wide exposition showcased the products of leading enterprises of the textile industry of Turkmenistan, one of the export oriented branches of the national economy. The expositions presented by the regions of the country demonstrated the achievements of cotton growers in all five velayats. Turkmen entrepreneurs and foreign companies, manufacturers and suppliers of agricultural equipment and service companies occupied a special place at the exposition.
The International Conference entitled “Cotton Industry of Turkmenistan and World Market” started its work within the framework of the II International Cotton Fair brought together specialists of core agencies and representatives of agricultural companies, the world consumers of cotton products, old and prospective partners of our country, producers of agricultural equipment, scientists and experts.
