Goturdepe deposit welcomes us with countless “forests” of oil derricks, which stretch for many kilometers from sand dunes up to the sea – Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea.
More than 50 years have passed since development of Goturdepe, nevertheless, its depths don’t grow scarce even today. In the beginning, oil was extracted by flowing mode, then it was launched the pump – gas lift extraction method. Today, introduction of elaborations of “Nebitgazylmytaslama” Research Institute into production contributes to the increasing of flow rate of wells. Its specialists also focus on the implementation of sectoral program until 2016, according to which it should be increased the oil production up to 55.9 million tons and natural gas up to 448.7 billion cubic meters.
A new oil and gas field - North Goturdepe also established a reputation for its industrial test site. Its development and improvement started two years ago. Here, the drillers of Goturdepe Drilling Operations Management realized horizontal and multilateral drilling on the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea and the results exceeded all expectations. During the drilling of well number 29 at a depth of 4.000 meters, it was obtained a powerful flow of oil, and the daily production rate of other wells - № 147 and 200 amounted to 700 and 800 tons of “black gold” correspondingly.
To the specialists’ opinion, local oil belongs to absolutely new type. Realized chemical analysis confirmed its high quality that is of great significance in production of diesel fuel, lubricating oils and other products of chemical and oil industry.
