A huge commercial oil inflow was received in the well 204 drilled by the specialists of the Turkmennebit State Concern in Northern Goturdepe. The total depth of the well driven in the Caspian shoal is 4,865 metres. The oil-bearing bed was revealed in the depth interval of 4,815-4,834 metres.
At present, the local specialists carry out research works at the well 204 with the aim to define its producibility. In this regard, it should be mentioned that during testing in 2011, the well 147 drilled in the offshore area of the Northern Goturdepe oil and gas field produced 800 tons of ‘black gold’ daily and the well 37 – 730 tons.
In the near future, it is planned to drill two exploratory wells 205 and 206 in the coastal area of the Caspian Sea. Moreover, a number of exploratory underground borewells will be built there to develop the oil-and-gas fields.
