IV International Gas Congress organized by the Turkmengas State Concern and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan under the patronage of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov closed in the Turkmen capital. Bringing together over 500 participants, including representatives of government organisations, 150 world oil and gas companies, leading mass media from more than 30 countries, Turkmenistan has once again proved the status of an international discussion platform.
According to government officials, representatives of international organisations, scientific circles, such companies as Chevron, Exxon-Mobil, BP, Shell, Hyundai Engineering, Pietro Fiorentini, Honeywell, Halliburton, СРЕСС, audit companies, etc. the dynamic development of Turkmenistan and its integration into the global energy markets are closely related to widening the international cooperation.
The second day of the congress included several thematic sessions dedicated to investments into production and development of gas resources, advanced methods of prospecting for and extraction of raw materials, export and transit potential, development of the infrastructure of the fuel and energy complex, gas conversion process as well as environmental factors.
One of the Congress sessions focused on gas conversion process as well as gas and chemical industry. It was noted that Turkmenistan envisages export of natural and liquefied gas as well as methane and ethane for production of valuable polymer materials, in particular polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinylchloride and other liquid gas and chemical products. At present, Turkmenistan successfully develops the technology of gas conversion into carbamide and pays particular attention to widen the production of mineral fertilizers using natural gas.
As is known, one of the outcomes of the visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Japan, the Turkmenhimiya State Concern signed the contract with Kawasaki Plant Systems Ltd и Sojits Corporation in January, 2010 for design, supply of equipment and providing consultations to the complex of plants on production of ammonia and carbamide in Mary.
A number of meetings between foreign businessmen and heads of oil and gas agencies and concerns of Turkmenistan took place within the framework of the IV International Gas Congress.
The work of the IV International Gas Congress continued with a sectoral exhibition that became a platform for arranging business meetings and discussing new opportunities for implementation of joint projects aimed at efficient development of hydrocarbon resources and fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan.
