The conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the introduction of the national currency of Turkmenistan and the reforms in the monetary and credit sphere took place in the Avaza National tourist zone.
The heads and leading specialists of the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Islamic Development Bank, the Belgian Bankers Academy, the Interstate Bank as well as representatives of the central and national bans of Switzerland, Turkey, Poland, Belarus, Tajikistan arrived in Turkmenistan to take part in the forum. Among the delegates to the conference are the heads of such famous companies as VISA, De La Ruу, Royal Mint and SWIFT.
The heads and specialists of the state and joint-stock commercial banks, economic organizations, teachers of the institutions of higher education represented Turkmenistan at the forum. The representatives of the leading financial organizations and large foreign banks working in our countries were invited to take part in the conference.
Speaking about the importance of the economic reforms, the forum participants noted that the further steps taken on the initiative of the Turkmen leader allowed Turkmenistan avoiding the impact of the world finical and economic crisis and promoted to creating the optimal conditions for the further successful movement of the country along the way of progress and prosperity. The high macroeconomic indexes of the country development and the positive assessment of the experts of the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and other authoritative financial organizations vividly prove the efficiency of the measures taken in order to achieve the tasks. That is testified by the fact that last October, the World Bank classified Turkmenistan as the country with an upper middle-income. The decision was taken based on the statistical data demonstrating the stable and dynamic growth of the Turkmen national economy.
The presentation of the Avaza National tourist zone was organized for the foreign guests at the Nebitchi Hotel on the Caspian Coast within the framework of the program of event on occasion of the remarkable date.
Within the framework of the cultural programme, the guests to the forum also visited the museum "The World of Sails" and the Avaza National tourist zone.
