Kenar oil tanker replenishes the national marine fleet

On the eve of the 18th anniversary of gaining neutrality of Turkmenistan, the Kenar oil tanker built at the request of Turkmenistan at the Krasnoe Sormovo Shipyard in Nizhny Novgorod, the Russian Federation arrived in the Turkmenbashi International sea port.

New tanker designed for the transportation of crude oil and oil products is equipped with two boosters guaranteeing the vessel high speed. It is also equipped with twelve containers isolated from each other that allow transporting various types of fuel while in the autonomous navigation for almost twenty days.

The representatives of the Velayat and Turkmenbashi Khyakimlik, the State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan, public organizations, and the elders participated in the solemn ceremony of meeting the new vessel.

When entering the port, the 140-metre vessel with the bearing capacity of 7,100 tons performed mooring maneuvers. According to the tradition, the board the tanker was showered with white flour as a sign of it'd safe arrival to the hometown.
