President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a videoconference meeting with the Vice Premiers, the khyakims of the regions and Ashgabat and the heads of the ministries and departments .
The preparations for the New Year's celebrations was the main theme of the meeting, The meeting participants reported to the President on the measures taken to hold the upcoming festivities in a proper manner. In particular, the reports focused on the organisation of the festive events with the participation of cultural workers and artists of Turkmenistan to be held in the capital and the regions of the country and the New Year's celebrations to be held on the main squares of the Turkmen capital, towns and villages where the New Year's trees are installed on December 31. The information on the organisation and conducting the festivities at educational institutions and the winter school holidays was presented.
The meeting participants reported on the measures taken to uninterruptedly supply electricity during the New Year's celebrations, flood the domestic consumer market with food and non-food products, including New Year's decorations, was presented.
The issues relating to the schedule of work of health institutions during the winter holidays, the preparedness of utility enterprises for the planned activities, the measures taken to ensure reliable and uninterrupted operation of telephone, mobile communications and Internet facilities and to strengthen public order during the winter holidays.
The information on the practical steps taken to strengthen the material and technical basis of rail transport and improve the quality of passenger services, the measures taken to ensure the reliable work of the rail and air transport enterprises during the winter holidays was presented. It was reported that 20 additional domestic flights were included in the timetable to convey passengers during the winter holidays. The reports on the current situation in the regions and the measures taken to develop industrial and social infrastructure were presented.
The President was informed of the measures taken to explore the opportunities to increase electricity exports from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan .
The draft projects for improvement of some districts of Ashgabat developed by the ministries and departments were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
After considering the projects and layouts, the President provided some specific comments and recommendations for future facilities.
During the meeting the President issued the Resolution appointing R. Hydyrov Kenar Etrap Deputy Khyakim in Turkmenbashi in Balkan Velayat and A. Yagmurov Karakum Etrap Deputy Khyakim in Mary Velayat.
