The works of the outstanding representatives of the 17th-18th century Turkmen classical literature, including Nurmuhammed Andalib, Dovletmammed Azadi and Magtymguly Fraghi whose poetry is the treasuries of national and world culture, are are translated in Russian for the book.

The new book published in the Classical Literature of the CIS States series, which succeeded to the well-known the Library of World Literature series, includes lyric poems, ghazals, destans and other poetical works created by Andalib, Azadi and Magtymguly which have become a distinguished contribution to the development and enrichment of Eastern literature and reflect the lofty ideals of justice and humanity, harmony and beauty that the Turkmen people are committed to from ancient times. Many of them are published in the Russian language for the first time. The book is illustrated with the reproductions of Turkmen artists’ works and the pictures from the depositories in the State Academy of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan.
The notable pieces of Turkmen folklore and national classical literature translated into Russian were included in the book entitled the Light Shining from Ancient Times which was published in the abovementioned series by the Belletristic Literature Publishing House in 2009. It presents the heroic eposes, destans, folk songs and tales, proverbs and sayings of the Turkmen people and the works created by the outstanding literary men in the 18th-19th centuries. These include Azadi, Magtumguly, Andalib, Bayram Khan, Magrupi, Zelili, Kemine, Seydi, Shabende, Gayyby, Sheydayi, Kyatibi, Mollanepes, Myataji and other prominent classic poets.
