The gasochemical complex for production of polyethylene and polypropylene with related annual capacities of 386 000 tons of polyethylene and 81 000 tons of polypropylene is expected to be built in Balkan velayat. Part of its production will be exported.
With a view of successful realization of the program of development of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan up to 2030, production of high quality and world standards gasochemical products by way of processing of natural gas the president of Turkmenistan has signed the resolution on financing construction of the gasochemical complex for manufacture of polyethylene and polypropylene in Balkan velayat. The document allows the recipient -state bank of foreign economic relations of Turkmenistan on behalf of the government of Turkmenistan the following:
Conclude the appropriate credit agreement for 10 years with the Japan bank of international cooperation and participating financial organizations –loan creditors;
Conclude an appropriate agreement of loans for 10 years with the Korean export and import bank and participating financial organization –loan creditor as well as sign necessary documents related to these agreements and conduct necessary work connected with their commercement and management.
We should remind that in September, 2013, during the official visit of the government delegation to Japan our country reached a trilateral agreement on construction of a gasochemical complex for manufacture of polyethylene and polypropylene between the State Concern Turkmengas and Companies «LG International Corp», «Hyundai Engineering» (Republic of Korea) and «TOYO Engineering Corporation» (Japan).
Within the framework of realization of the project, annually 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas will be processed for production of necessary raw material for manufacture of polyethylene and polypropylene. The remaining volume of natural gas from production, to be more exactly, 4.5 billion cubic meters of gas are agreed to run to the gas pipelines for utilization as a fuel.
