Sowing campaign is under completion on wheat fields of the country, which total area is 860 thousand hectares. To date, it was sown over 730 thousand hectares – it is more than 85 percents of whole field. Every day, the sowing is carried out on 12 thousand 200 hectares (1.5 percents).
Over one and a half thousand tractors with sowing aggregates were activated in the work on the fields. Another one and a half thousand ploughing and cultivating tractors realize the layout of lands and other agricultural operations during wheat sowing campaign.
From 200 thousand tons of stored selected wheat seeds for the current sowing campaign, it has been sown over 165 thousand. The farmers traditionally show preference to high-yielding, fast-ripening, sustainable to diseases and low temperatures wheat sorts. Among them are 15 soft and hard sorts, which make the basis of the wheat harvest – 2015. Among them are “Sahrai”, Juvan”, “Bitarap”, “Yoloten-1”, “Turkmenbashi-1”, “Gyzylshaglawuk-25”, “Miras”, “Akbash”, “Batko”, “Wassa”, “Irishka” and others.
Winter wheat sowing is planned to be completed at the end of the current month. In 2015, the Turkmen grain-growers intend to provide wheat harvest in volume of 1 million 600 thousand tons, including in Akhal province – 450 thousand tons, Dashoguz – 300 thousand tons, Lebap – 350 thousand tons, Mary – 380 thousand tons and Balkan – 120 thousand tons.
