With the view to extend the national cellular communications system in Turkmenistan and provide access to mobile communication services throughout the country and enhancing the quality of mobile communication services, the President of Turkmenistan issued the Resolution.

In accordance with the Resolution, the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan is to conclude the contracts for the purchase and installation of equipment for the Altyn Asyr mobile communication system with Huawei Technologies Co.Ltd. (People’s Republic of China) and Nokia Siemens Networks OY (Republic of Finland).

The technical assistance contract is to be concluded with the Vostochny Veter Close Corporation (Russian Federation) to increase the exchange capacity of the EastWind Billing System of the Altyn Asyr system and the CDMA system of the telephone network in Ashgabat and diversify mobile communications services.
