The International exposition of furniture and household supplies opened at the Exposition Centre in Ashgabat. The main goal of the specialized exhibition, which is held in the country for the first time, is to demonstrate the achievements of the furniture trade, potential and prospects of development of the domestic entrepreneurship in this sector as well as in the sphere of production of various household supplies.
Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, high-ranking officials, heads of ministries and departments, public organisations, and mass media attended the exposition opening ceremony.
The exposition included various samples of furniture sets and accessories showcased at the pavilions of domestic manufacturers. Representatives of large companies from Germany, Russia, China, Japan, Italy, Korea, Turkey, Iran, India, Belarus, Armenia and other countries attracted with an opportunity to expand the economic partnership with our country presented new ideas of home and office interior design.

Domestic textile industey was represented by high-quality household products, including bed and bathing clothes, kitchen cloth, portiere curtain. It is also planned to set up furniture soft furnishing production.
Private companies and firms that developed the local market in such areas as delivery of up-to-date home appliances and electrical appliances, computer equipment, television equipment and stationary telephones, production of household chemicals, textiles as well as Turkmen carpet weaving and unique decorative and applied art showcased their potential at the exhibition.
Wonderful silk and wool ornamental carpets, hand-made landscape paintings, modern rugs and accessories, embroideries, jewelry, pottery, souvenirs made by entrepreneurs and craftsmen as well as young artists from the national art schools were presented there.
The exposition is aimed at enhancing the trade and economic cooperation with foreign partners and widening the product portfolio of the national production with the prospect to enter the world market.
