A new railway station was opened in the administrative centre of Balkan Velayat - Balkanabat.
Representatives of the velayat and town hyakimliks, enterprises and public organisations, the elders and young citizens attended the opening ceremony.
Private enterprise Ösüş Gurluşyk constructed the new railway station at the request of the Ministry of Railway Transport.
The main foyer of the railway stations changed beyond recognition. The first floor hosts a lounge designed for 100 passengers, ticket offices, information desk, cellular communication offices, exchange office and a cafe. Stores, internet cafe, conference hall, administration facilities, a hotel and VIP hall are located on the second floor. The autonomous air-conditioning and heating systems create favourable climate at the station.
A railway platform was also reconstructed within the framework of the project. A special shed built given the climate conditions of Turkmenistan and cozy benches designed totally for 250 seats are insalled along the platform. The station square is planted with conifers and flowers. There are parking lots near the railway station.
Thus, the new railway station built in Balkanabat that is one of the main transport hubs in the western region of the country allowed creating all necessary conditions for passengers and railway workers.
