Activity of “Turkmenbashiagyzsuw” Management, supplying the resort city Turkmenbashi with pure drinking water, is formed in accurate calculation of its increasing needs in potable water and utilization of sewerage flows, which are allotted to the installation of biological purification of sewage and then used for watering and technical needs.
Owing to huge capital investments of the state, it was created in the city a modern engineering and communication infrastructure that allows solving the industrial tasks at the level of modern requirements. Today, “Turkmenbashiagyzsuw” Management is the enterprise, which has underground communications laid in accordance with the world standards, large reservoir park with total capacity of over 100 thousand cubic meters, pumping stations, controller's offices, workshops, garage of specialized vehicles and office fitted with up-to-date equipment.
Within a year, the reservoirs of management receive over six million cubic meters of potable water. Not more than 45 percent of them falls on share of Amyderya water, being delivered from Garagum River to Balkanabat for purification and further to Turkmenbashi city by arterial water pipeline. Other part is produced on-site – at seaside water distiller constructed and put into exploitation in Avaza five years ago with participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
At seawater desalting plant with production capacity of 35 thousand cubic meters per day, it is produced nearly 13 million cubic meters of drinking water per year. Capacity of desalting plant not only satisfies the present needs of seaside resort and city as a whole, but also creates reserve stocks of water for future taking into account growth dynamics of the population, industry, development of socio-cultural sphere and park zones. At that, engineering nets and relevant technical infrastructure constructed in accordance with progressive technologies from high-technology materials reliably insure the systems of water supply and overflow pipe from accidents, loss of drinking water, and guarantee the protection of environment from pollution.
“The holy of holies” of “Turkmenbashiagyzsuw” Management is the chemico-bacteriological laboratory. It has been placed in modern building and consists of four analytical departments on chemical and bacteriological research of portable water and sewage. Qualified chemists and bacteriologists have digital analogs of atomic absorption spectrophotometers for determination of solid and soluble substances in water, high-accuracy analytical balance, and water-ultracleaning equipment of “Siemens” to provide exactness of investigations, apparatuses for microbiological testing, measuring of content in water of oxygen, oils, and mechanical and other admixtures, etc.
– It is our main task, - says the head of laboratory Elmira Mejidova, - because, a potable water is the first significant food product in the world, and its quality has to be irreproachable. We duplicate the getting of analyses by different methods in order to eliminate even unimportant mistakes by comparing of results. It is our duty and presently, owing to well-equipped laboratory, we have all possibilities to realize the work at the high professional level.
