It was published a regular number of quarterly popular science “Miras” magazine, being issued by the National Institute of Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. Magazine continues a series of publications of national and foreign scientists about new discoveries and results of the researches of historic-cultural and spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people.
Section “Discoveries and new designs” was quite capacious in this number. Turkmen scientists jointly with the researchers from various world countries made several scientific discoveries. In publication “New data on late of Stone Age and eneolith of the Central Asia: Dashly-depe”, the researcher of department for Eurasia of the German Archeological Institute of Nicolaus Boroffka, specialist of Archaemetric Center named after Kurt Engelborn Schteffen Kraus and their colleagues from Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan tell about archeological investigations in Dashly-depe. Scientists provide valuable information about agriculture as well as arts and crafts, everyday life of people, who lived here in the period of late Stone Age and early eneolith. Scholars prove that Dashly-depe is important monument, throwing light on development processes of agriculture in the moment of transfer from late Stone Age to eneolith, particularly, substantiate the fact that in submontane belt of Kopetdag, the cultivation of crops, including barley and several kinds of wheat was realized in the epoch of late Stone Age and later.
This topic finds the continuation in the article “XRF- analysis of eneolith dagger from Dashly-depe”, where it was presented the results of the researches of the chemical composition of the material which was used for making the dagger. Modern methods allow drawing a conclusion not only about development level of workmanship, but also about areal of sources of raw material.
In the section “Interaction of cultures, people and civilizations”, the reader is able to familiarize with publication of Doctor of Philosophy R. Bahodirov from the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Abu Reikhan Biruni of Academy of Sciences of Republic of Uzbekistan. The author considers the problem of classification of sciences on material of productions of the scientists of XI-XIII centuries and throws light on aspects of formation and development of material and spiritual culture of Turkmenistan and Central Asia as a whole.
One of the vital topics, attracting the attention of researchers, is the history of Merv as the ancient hearth of civilization. In this context, there is a significant article of the employee of National Institute of Manuscripts of Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan devoted to the creativity of poetess of the epoch of seljuks – Myahesti Myaneji, who lived in Merv at the end of XI and beginning of XII centuries and was famous in rubai genre.
Being based on handwritten sources and archeological researches, the author of publication “Merv in the epoch of Khorezmshakhs Anushteginidovs” proves that in the period of drastic shocks, which followed after death of Sultan Sanjar, Merv gradually gained former power and glory, and became one of the developed and strategically important cities of Khorezmshakhs empire, keeping its role as significant religious, cultural and trade center.
Topic of history of Merv also found its reflection in the design of the first number of “Miras” magazine, which cover keeps the photo of sculptural image of one of the most powerful rulers of Seljuk state – Sultan Sanjar and his Mausoleum – unique monument located on the territory of State Historic-cultural reserve “Ancient Merv” and a part of gold treasury of the cultural heritage of the Turkmen people.
In “Chronicle of scientific and cultural life”, traditionally completing the number, it was given the review of events of social, scientific and cultural life of the Turkmen state in the first quarter of current year.
