A gas connection unit that will supply gas to the 42-km pipeline laid from Garabil to the Gurrukbil field was put into operation in the Garabil gas condensate field. Two wells with the flow rate of 750,000-800,000 cubic metres per day each were put on production there to ensure the effective operation of the unit.
Specialists of the Turkmennebitgazgurlusyk State Concern are currently engaged in completing eight more gas condensate wells that have been drilled by specialists of the Turkmengaz State Concern. Putting ten wells on production under the project are to ensure the additional supply of hydrocarbons, a total of one billion of natural gas each year.
Natural gas supplied via the Garabil-Gurrukbil-Dovletabad-2 gas transportation system will flow into gas export stream from our country to foreign consumers.
Putting the gas connection unit and two wells into operation is a new step to promote the energy strategy of Turkmenistan including such critical aspects as the development of fuel and energy infrastructure in the country and reliable transit of hydrocarbons to transnational systems supplying Turkmen energy to world markets.
Turkmenistan, having put forward a number of important international initiatives to elaborate reliable mechanisms for achieving global energy security, takes specific concrete measures to fill them with a practical content. The transnational gas pipelines including the Turkmenistan-China pipeline, the second line of the Turkmenistan-Iran gas pipeline, the first production of natural gas in offshore deposits in the Caspian Sea, the ongoing construction of the East-West gas pipeline that will connect the largest gas fields in the country including the Garabil-Gurrukbil group of fields and other ambitious projects are vivid evidence for the success of the energy policy of the Turkmen state.
