The large scale industry forum – the international exhibition and conference entitled “The Major Areas for Development of Turkmenistan’s Power Industry” – started its work in the capital of Turkmenistan.
The forum that is held each year on the professional holiday – Day of Power Engineers of Turkmenistan, celebrated on the second Saturday of September, provided an important platform for business talks between Turkmen and foreign specialists. The exhibition showcased the potential and development prospects of Turkmenistan’s power industry and advanced technologies used in this sector.
The specialized forum, held by the Ministry of Energy and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Sergi Kosgi Exhibition Centre in Ashgabat, brought together by over 160 exhibitors, representing power companies from different countries of the world, Turkmen industrial agencies and private companies. The interest of foreign partners in the forum testifies to the dynamic development of the sector and the keen willingness of business circles to establish mutually beneficial cooperation.
Over 60 foreign companies from Turkey, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, Russia, Iran, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and others participated in the exhibition. The world’s largest designers and power equipment manufacturers presented their solutions and know how in Ashgabat. These included General Electric, Schneider Electric, Calik Enerji, EthosEnergy, Lotus, Best transformer, Europower Enerji, Metro, Klas Kablo, Sumitomo, Elektroshchit, Poltava turbomechanical plant, Minsk electrotechnical plant, among others.
The panorama of the achievements and prospects of Turkmenistan’s power industry was presented by Turkmenenergo State Power Corporation, Turkmenenergogurlusyk State Concern, Turkmenmasyngurlusyk State Concern, Turkmenenergonadzor enterprise, Asgabatenergo Production Association, Turkmenenergoabatlayys Production Association, research institutes, Turkmen State Energy Institute, among others.
The private companies that have showed good results in the construction of power plants and power transmission lines and repair, installation and commissioning works presented their significant contribution to the development of the power system in the country. The companies that specialize in delivering state-of-the-art electric power devices and equipment and environmentally friendly technological innovations from the world’s manufacturers contribute to the development of electric power infrastructure.
The participants also included the Turkmen private companies – Ceper Gurlusyk, Tehnika Mekany, Salkyn Tomus, Turkmen Yyldyzy, Kuwwatly Energiya Hyzmat, Yaran, among others.

It brought together specialists from ministries and departments, research institutes, top managers of foreign companies, experts and analysts, managers and sales representatives from different countries of the world.
Those speaking at the conference focused on the modernization of the industry, major investment projects on construction of inter-country and international power transmission lines, the introduction of advanced technologies in construction and reconstruction of electric power systems and the system solutions for automated monitoring of electricity consumption. Particular attention was paid to the promotion of renewable sources of energy and the establishment of innovative power networks and management systems.
