With the commissioning of the Balkan and Lebap Cement Plants, it was practically solved the task of providing with cement of own production the large-scale construction developed in the country.
Since beginning of 2015, the country's cement plants produced about 3.3 million tons of cement with implementation of the annual plan. This was reported today at the government meeting.
With a view to satisfy the consumer demand for this product, in provincial and etrap centers of the country, it was opened 35 specialized shops, belonging to the Ministry of Industry, for sale of cement at a single fixed price - 175 manats per ton. To date, it was sold about 207 thousand tons of cement. More than 31.5 thousand tons of cement products sold to population through trade enterprises and organizations of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan located in the provinces.
As compared with 2013, the growth rate of the cement production in the country in 2014 came to 110.7 percent.
The leader of the world on consumption of cement is rapidly growing Asian region. Whereas, since 2008, all over the world, there was a decline in production of cement, Turkmenistan continued to increase paces and built new plants.
Balkan Cement Plant in Jebel with annual capacity of 1 million tons of product (oil-well Portland cement, sulphate) was launched in 2011. Another “one million” - Lebap Cement Plant in Garlyk was put into operation in 2013.
Thus, within a short period of time, it was adjusted in the country own cement industry, satisfying the needs of home market in scale construction realized in the country. Available rich raw materials for cement production also open export possibilities before national sector.
