Master of Sports on International Class Hojamuhammet Toychiyev has taken the fourth position in the weight category above 109 kg at Asian Weightlifting Championship in Tashkent.

8 athletes from 7 countries competed for the medals in super heavy weight. In the first two attempts in snatch, Hojamuhammet has lifted 176 and 181 kg respectively. He tried to lift 187 in the third attempt but it was unsuccessful.

In clean and jerk, 29-year old foster of Honored Coach of Turkmenistan Ikram Matkarimov have also managed to lift declared weight of 223 kg. But in the last two attempts, he couldn’t lift first 231 kg and after 232 kg. In the result, H. Toychiyev has lifted 404 kg in total.

Winner of the IWF World Cup Eishiro Murakami (Japan) has won bronze on this weight category with result of 415 kg (190+225). Winner of the Fifth International Solidarity Championship 2018 Man Asaad (Syria) won silver with result of 433 kg (195+238). 2018 World Junior Champion Ali Davoudi (Iran) has won the second gold medal of Asian Championship with result of 435 kg (196+239).

Another representative of Turkmenistan, 23-year old Master of Sports Ovez Ovezov has taken the 7th position among 10 weightlifters in the weight category up to 109 kg. He has lifted 380 kg (175+205) in total.

The first two positions in this weight were taken by weightlifters from Uzbekistan – Rio de Janeiro Olympic Champion, World Champion and Champion of the World Student Games Ruslan Nurudinov has become a winner of Asian Championship for the third time with the world record in clean and jerk; while two-time world junior champion Akbar Djuraev has won silver with result of 428 kg (192+234). Champion of Asian Games 2010 and 2014, prize winner of 2018 and 2019 World Championships Yang Zhe (China) was the third in this category with result of 415 kg (200+215) and the world record in snatch.
